Adelaide Airport Terminal Expansion Project: Watpac

Adelaide Airport Terminal Expansion work will support forecast passenger growth to 2029 and include major expansion and refurbishment works of the existing terminal to provide a larger international departure area, more airport services and an enhanced layout.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS was engaged by Watpac to provide cost estimation support to their estimating team, works included contract administration activities, tender packages reviews, and general cost estimation and advice.

VALUE ADDED
Capisce QS provided Watpac with a member of our team to provide on-site estimating assistance for the entire duration of the project. This fresh outlook on the project has highlighted risks and opportunities across many packages keeping our client informed ahead of critical time issues allowing strategic decision making to ensure success for the project.

Commercial

The Salvation Army Australia - Unley and Mt Barker: TSA

Upgrade works to the existing Salvation Army Australia facilities located in Unley and Mount Barker. Works included refurbishment of existing properties including minor realignments and more extensive cosmetic repair works.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS was engaged by The Salvation Army to assess and provide monthly progress recommendation to contractor’s claims and variations.

VALUE ADDED
Capisce QS provided contract administration role for the Salvation Army. Capisce QS monitor monthly expenditure against budgeted categories, assess and report on how project costs are affected based on progress of work on site.

Arts & Culture

Middleback Arts Centre Whyalla: Grieve Gillett

Proposed refurbishment and extension of the Middleback Arts Centre in Whyalla including performing arts spaces, galleries and cinemas.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS provided master planning advice and concept estimating services on the total project cost of the construction of the Arts Centre. Construction methodology and procurement advice was also provided to the team in what promises to be an exciting new regional development.

VALUE ADDED
An understanding of the Whyalla area and an ability to provide sufficient detail in a limited time were key requirements of this project. Capisce QS provided a detailed estimate to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

Defence

Keswick Barracks Base Wide Maintenance: WGA/Army Reserve & The Royal Australian Navy

Following consultation with the Army Reserve and the Royal Australian Navy and inspection of the buildings, WGA compiled a report setting out the scope of works of the maintenance/repair works at the Keswick Barracks.

Capisce QS provided a 30% design estimate based on the scope of works provided by WGA.

Education

Reynella East College Redevelopment: DPTI

The key features of this redevelopment included construction of a new 4 no. court gymnasium building to basketball SA standards with change room and toilet amenities; 2 no. flexible classroom spaces; office space, staff amenities and storage areas; a kitchen / canteen; car parking spaces and landscaping.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS was engaged to provide estimating & cost management services, from inception to completion.

VALUE ADDED
Capisce QS provided concept phase cost plans and developed detailed estimates to negotiate and verify Contractors Total Fixed Price (TFP), while providing support to project management throughout the pre-construction phases. During construction phase Capisce QS prepared progress claim assessments, assessment of variation claims, and monthly budget review to ensure budget and program were successfully maintained.

Health

Country Health Sustainment: DPTI

The Country Health SA Local Health Network (CHSALHN) Asset Sustainment Program was announced by the Government in December 2017. The program of works is to be implemented to focus on the backlog of sustainment works associated with country hospitals and aged care facilities and to address high priority areas including asset sustainment, compliance and accreditation.

Urgent attention is required for electrical and fire services upgrades with 18 sites across Country Health SA Regions. Whilst all facilities satisfied construction best practice and legal requirements at the time of construction, compliance issues are now present with ageing equipment that country hospitals wish to address and rectify.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS were engaged by Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) on behalf of Country Health SA Local Hospital Network (CHSALHN) to report on the Financial Status of Electrical Services Upgrade works for various regional hospital sites.

VALUE ADDED
Capisce QS has provided DPTI with monthly progress and financial reports to illustrate the projects budget status, contingency commitment, expenditure status, project cash flow and report on general site progress, claims and issues.

Recreational

Southern Parklands 22 Concept: Grieve Gillett

Construction of a new two storey hockey club building and a one storey netball club in the southern parklands of Adelaide CBD.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS provided estimating services on the concept of a new two storey hockey club and a one storey netball club in the southern parklands. Works included multiple options and value management studies to ensure best value for money outcomes were achieved.

VALUE ADDED
Capisce QS provided sufficient cost planning information to the client with minimal information to allow progressive decision making to take place and early stages in this this project.

Morphettville Apartments Lot 3: SA Housing

The Morphettville Urban Renewal Project involves the construction of a ground plus three-storey apartment building of 12 apartments and associated car parking, landscaping, and site improvements on a single land title site at Lot 3 Appleby Road, Morphettville, South Australia.

OUR INVOLVEMENT
Capisce QS was engaged by South Australian Housing Trust to provide quantity surveying post contract consultancy services including the following listed works:

Assessment of work in progress including preparation of interim payment assessments;
Estimating, pricing, negotiation and finalization of variations;
Monitoring and preparation of monthly progress reports on construction progress and financial position;
Provide advice as required in protecting the interests of SA Housing.
